Softball Recap: Oxbow Picks Up 27th Consecutive Victory

Oxbow put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lamoille Lancers a 26-0 shutout. Give the Olympians' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's eighth straight shutout.

Noemi Rosa made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mazie Bourgeois was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. What's more, she posted four RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Braylee Phelps, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Oxbow kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive contests.

Oxbow pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.2 runs over those games. As for Lamoille, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Oxbow will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lancers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
