Landen Wells commands the offense for Bearcats win

The Muncie Central Bearcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 67-56 victory over Marion. The win was a breath of fresh air for Muncie Central as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Muncie Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landen Wells, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wells has scored all season. Xaviya Cook was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Marion's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Amar Rogers, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds, and Jaymen Townsend who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Townsend has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Barnes, who scored nine points.

Marion struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Muncie Central's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Marion, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Muncie Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Muncie Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Marion, they will be playing at home against Anderson at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Marion is coming into the game with five straight defeats at home, meaning Anderson will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
