Oskaloosa falls despite strong effort from Gunner Rockhold

The Oskaloosa Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pleasant Ridge. Oskaloosa was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pleasant Ridge apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Wednesday.

Despite the loss, Oskaloosa still got an impressive performance from Gunner Rockhold, who scored nine points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Trenten Vanhoutan, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Pleasant Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Mance led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Mance hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. Canon Duncan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Oskaloosa now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Pleasant Ridge, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14.

Oskaloosa and McLouth will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. McLouth is coming into the match with three straight losses on the road, meaning Oskaloosa will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Pleasant Ridge, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Horton at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Hortonpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pleasant Ridge in Kansas (Horton is ranked 127th, while Pleasant Ridge is ranked 325th).
