Baseball Recap: Carl Albert Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Carl Albert's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Elgin Owls on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 9-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Carl Albert saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Avery, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Carl Albert and nudges their season record down to 24-6. As for Elgin, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 24-6 record.

Coming up, Carl Albert will face off against Edmond North at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elgin, they will challenge Newcastle at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Racers will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Owls surely won't give up without a fight.
