Lincoln Southwest is 9-1 against Lincoln North Star since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks and the Lincoln North Star Navigators will meet in a classic North v. South matchup at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Lincoln Southwest has six wins , while Lincoln North Star has four).

Last Saturday, Lincoln Southwest made easy work of Columbus and carried off a 51-25 victory. Given the Silver Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Discoverers are ranked 120th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lincoln Southwest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alexis Gutknecht out in front who posted ten points. Kaytee Irons-Buettner was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Lincoln North Star against Fremont on Saturday as the team secured a 69-39 victory. The Navigators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 22 points or more this season.

Lincoln Southwest's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Lincoln North Star, their record now sits at 4-0.

Lincoln Southwest beat Lincoln North Star 43-35 in their previous matchup back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln Southwest since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
