Baseball Recap: Jackson-Reed Extends Home Winning Streak to 11

Jackson-Reed waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the McKinley Tech Trainers with a sharp 12-1 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Liam Blick tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jackson-Reed let Rowan Hopson and Evan Rosario run wild. Hopson scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Rosario scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, Hopson posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Stadler, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Jackson-Reed hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three strikeouts batters in three consecutive matchups.

Jackson-Reed's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for McKinley Tech, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
