Marian came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Pius X Thunderbolts. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Saturday.

Erin Cramer paced Marian's offense, picking up five kills. Cramer got some help from Addy Janke and her ten assists. Cramer was also a major player on defense: she and Taylor McLeay shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Pius X's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Whitney Mertens, who had 11 digs and one assist, and Kami Wemhoff, who had 12 digs and one assist.

Marian's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Pius X, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-11.

Marian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Elkhorn South on the 4th. As for Pius X, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln Southeast on the 4th.
