Baseball Game Preview: Carroll Eagles vs. Brewbaker Tech Rams

The Carroll Eagles will square off against the Brewbaker Tech Rams at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Carroll's offense. They lost 14-0 to Long on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Brewbaker Tech put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Bullock County as they made off with a 17-2 win. Fans of the Rams have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Brewbaker Tech got a massive performance out of Aidan Braxter, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Colvin, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.

Brewbaker Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Brewbaker Tech's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Carroll, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Carroll has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Brewbaker Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
