Softball Recap: Bisbee Gets the Win

Bisbee lost to Tombstone back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Pumas walked away with a 10-7 win over the Yellow Jackets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pumas.

Jordan Holly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Alyssa Lopez and Maria Lopez did most of the damage at the plate: Alyssa scored three runs and stole three bases while going 5-for-5, while Maria went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those five hits gave Alyssa a new career-high. Isabella Solis was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.

Bisbee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .475. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tombstone only posted a batting average of .300.

Bisbee's record now sits at 10-7. As for Tombstone, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Bisbee has already played their next match, a 17-14 victory against Morenci on the 1st. As for Tombstone, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-6 defeat against Tanque Verde on the 28th.
