After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Sulphur Springs brought some dynamite into their most recent match. Their defense stepped up to hand the Mount Vernon Tigers a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six games by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Mount Vernon from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Rowan Faircloth led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Sulphur Springs' victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Mount Vernon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Sulphur Springs wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, an 8-0 win against North Lamar on the 28th. Mount Vernon has also already played their next match (against Pittsburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
