Football Recap: Delta Academy Comes Up Short

Delta Academy was the 44-22 winner over Calhoun Academy when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders had to suffer through a 56-20 loss at the hands of the Cougars. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Delta Academy still got an impressive performance from Chaderious Boclair, who rushed for 190 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. Boclair's longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Delta Academy also got help from Landyn Simmerman, who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.

Delta Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Calhoun Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Coming up, Delta Academy will face off against Delta Streets Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Calhoun Academy, they will welcome Marvell Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 41.2 points per game this season.
