Football Recap: Northwood Takes a Loss

Northwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Portola Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 42nd).

Northwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Portola, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Looking ahead, Northwood will square off against Sage Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lightning's defense has only allowed 8.9 points per game this season, so the Timberwolves' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Portola, they will host Laguna Beach at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
