Basketball Recap: Brady Odiorne and Collin Corpus Secure Win for Johnson City

The Johnson City Eagles made easy work of the Somerset Academy Collegiate Bears on Thursday and carried off a 70-49 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Johnson City to victory were Collin Corpus and Brady Odiorne. Corpus shot 50% from the field on his way to 21 points in addition to five assists and five steals, while Odiorne posted 17 points along with seven assists and six steals. That's the most points Odiorne has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Preston Craig, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 10 points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Johnson City was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. They are 4-2 when they've passed the ball that well.

Johnson City is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points over those games. As for Somerset Academy Collegiate, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Johnson City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 38-29 defeat against Weimar on the 12th. Hopefully Somerset Academy Collegiate paid attention to the Eagles' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
