Soccer Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Wayne and Mynderse Academy meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, Wayne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while Mynderse Academy are ranked 47th).

Wayne's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-5-1. As for Mynderse Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wayne will square off against rival Geneva at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Mynderse Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe Palmyra-Macedon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
