Soccer Game Preview: Osbourn Park vs. Battlefield

Osbourn Park is 0-10 against Battlefield since May of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will host the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Osbourn Park has given up an average of 4.2 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Osbourn Park fell victim to Freedom and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 9-0 to the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Osbourn Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Freedom are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, Battlefield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three two weeks ago. Their defense stepped up to hand the Lions an 8-0 shutout. Battlefield might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by eight goals or more this season.

Battlefield's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those four games. As for Osbourn Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4-1.
