Basketball Recap: Gateway Christian Takes a Loss

Gateway Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through an 88-13 loss at the hands of the Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks. Gateway Christian lost against Atlantic Shores Christian in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 76-28 score last time.

Gateway Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Gateway Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Broadwater Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
