Basketball Recap: Lauryn Trinidad's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Notre Dame over Valley

If Notre Dame was feeling good fresh off their 66-14 takedown of East last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Notre Dame Titans lost to the Valley Indians on the road by a 49-35 margin on Saturday. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Notre Dame lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lauryn Trinidad, who went 5 for 7 to rack up 14 points. The dominant performance gave Trinidad a new career-high in points. Laney Strickland was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

Notre Dame's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Valley, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will host Glenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Valley, they will welcome Lynchburg-Clay at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
