Basketball Game Preview: Toppenish Wildcats vs. Ephrata Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Toppenish Wildcats take on the Ephrata Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday... Toppenish is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.1 points per game this season.

Toppenish took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They secured a 54-50 W over Quincy. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Toppenish's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyland Taylor, who posted ten points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Taylor a new career-high in boards. Jason Sanchez was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Toppenish was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They are 6-10 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, Ephrata didn't have quite enough to beat East Valley on Tuesday and fell 66-63. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly three points.

This is the second loss in a row for Ephrata and nudges their season record down to 6-14. As for Toppenish, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

Toppenish didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Ephrata in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 49-44 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Toppenish since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
