Soccer Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Gering's Winning Streak

Gering lost against Douglas back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bulldogs came up short against the Bearcats, falling 7-1. While losing is never fun, Gering can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 42nd in Nebraska, while Douglas are ranked second in Wyoming).

With the defeat, Gering broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Douglas, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Gering didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Scottsbluff on the 17th. As for Douglas, they have also already played their next game, a 13-1 victory against Torrington on the 25th.
