League recap: Mansfield Senior tops Wooster to extend winning streak

Mansfield Senior extended the longest winning streak in Ohio Cardinal this week by beating Wooster, 45-21. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Tygers.

Madison Comprehensive moved up to 337 from 374 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Rams were able to move up by defeating Orrville 20-10.

Ashland's Nick Zurcher and Jacob Allton have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Zurcher has thrown for 2,139 yards this season, while Allton has 56 catches for 749 yards. Layne Perone from West Holmes leads the league in rushing with 1,271 yards.

A big matchup in Ohio Cardinal this week will be when Clear Fork takes on the Red Riders. The Colts are in third place, while Orrville is in fifth place.

The Arrows and Clear Fork played the closest game in the league this week, with the Arrows eventually emerging with a 36-35 victory. Zurcher threw for 293 yards and 4 touchdowns and ran for 70 yards in the win.
