Preview: Crofton Warriors vs. Exeter-Milligan/Friend Bobcats
Two dominant in Wyatt Tramp and Breckan Schluter are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Crofton Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Exeter-Milligan/Friend Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Crofton comes in on 11 and Exeter-Milligan/Friend on eight.
Crofton had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 64-22 win over Elkhorn Valley on the road. Crofton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.
Crofton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tramp, who rushed for 213 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Jace Panning was another key contributor, gaining 149 total yards and three touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Crofton's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Braxton Foxhoven was the leader with two sacks.
Meanwhile, Exeter-Milligan/Friend faced St. Patrick's in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Exeter-Milligan/Friend enjoyed a cozy 44-28 win over St. Patrick's on Friday.
Schluter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 279 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Crofton to 11-0 and Exeter-Milligan/Friend to 10-1.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as both teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Crofton commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 7.1 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Exeter-Milligan/Friend struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.4 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
