Soccer Game Preview: Dover vs. Kennard-Dale

The Dover Eagles will head out to face off against the Kennard-Dale Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Dover fell victim to New Oxford and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Colonials by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Dover can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while New Oxford are ranked 123rd).

Meanwhile, Kennard-Dale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Lower Dauphin. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Kennard-Dale couldn't quite close it out.

Dover's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Kennard-Dale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-1.

Dover came up short against Kennard-Dale in their previous meeting on September 2nd, falling 3-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
