The Edmund Burke Academy Spartans can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They breezed by Glascock County at home to the tune of 71-31. Edmund Burke Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Edmund Burke Academy to victory were Harrison McClellan and Owen Redd. McClellan scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Redd scored 18 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that McClellan scored 15 or more points. Braydon Tindell was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Edmund Burke Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Glascock County, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6.
Edmund Burke Academy will face off against Lincoln County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Edmund Burke Academy in Georgia (Lincoln County is ranked 263rd, while Edmund Burke Academy is ranked 569th). Glascock County will be home for the holidays to greet Taliaferro County at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Taliaferro County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
