Softball Recap: Garner-Hayfield/Ventura Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Garner-Hayfield/Ventura took on Riceville on Saturday. The Cardinals lost 9-1 to the Wildcats. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in June of 2019.

Garner-Hayfield/Ventura has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Riceville, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garner-Hayfield/Ventura will face off against North Iowa at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Riceville, they will challenge Baxter at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Riceville is facing Baxter at the right time seeing as Baxter is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
