Basketball Game Preview: Garrett Morgan Falcons vs. Glenville Tarblooders

The Garrett Morgan Falcons will challenge the Glenville Tarblooders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Garrett Morgan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Glenville likes a good challenge.

Garrett Morgan will head into Tuesday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 47) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past John F. Kennedy 62-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted since December 7, 2024.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glenville). They blew past Max S. Hayes, posting a 96-36 victory. The Tarblooders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Glenville's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points per game. As for Garrett Morgan, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Garrett Morgan was dealt a bruising 88-40 defeat at the hands of Glenville in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Thankfully for Garrett Morgan, Damarion Witten (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
