Softball Recap: Elkhart's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Elkhart never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Mishawaka Marian Knights. Considering the Lions have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Laci Stimac made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Fionna Topolski was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Addison Reid, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Elkhart's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-11. As for Mishawaka Marian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Coming up, Elkhart will host Mishawaka at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Mishawaka Marian, they will take on Brandywine at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
