Baseball Recap: Franklinton Turns Things Around After Road Loss

Franklinton's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Sanderson on Wednesday. Everything went the Franklinton Red Rams' way against the Wake Prep Academy Guardians as the Franklinton Red Rams made off with a 7-1 win.

Eli Worner made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Worner was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Zirulnik, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was William Holmes, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

The victory got Franklinton back to even at 1-1. As for Wake Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Franklinton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-8 win against East Wake on the 28th. As for Wake Prep Academy, they have also already played their next match, an 8-3 victory against South Granville on the 4th.
