Basketball Recap: Chuckey-Doak Comes Up Short

Chuckey-Doak suffered their biggest defeat since February 23, 2024 on Friday. They were dealt an 81-42 loss at the hands of the Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Black Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Trojans are ranked 65th).

This is the second loss in a row for Chuckey-Doak and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for Morristown-Hamblen West, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Chuckey-Doak has already played their next contest, a 60-49 victory against South Greene on the 29th. As for Morristown-Hamblen West, they will challenge Powell at 6:00 p.m. on January 3rd.
