Softball Recap: Mayfield Cubs vs. Providence Pioneers

Mayfield extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 7-9-2 in the process. They came up short against the Providence Pioneers, falling 11-4. The Cubs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pioneers earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Jaz Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Providence, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
