The Biddeford Tigers will challenge the Gorham Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Biddeford lost 12-6 to Kennebunk on Friday. The Tigers have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Gabby Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Jaylah Trottier was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Gorham got the win against Marshwood on Friday by a conclusive 13-3. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.
Bella McBrady made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. McBrady was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Sawyer VonderHaar was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Tukey, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Gorham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marshwood only posted an OBP of .333.
Gorham's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Biddeford, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Biddeford might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Gorham in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
