Baseball Recap: Overton Bobcats vs. McGavock Raiders
While Overton's win against McGavock wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bobcats had just enough and edged out the Raiders 5-4 on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 last Tuesday.
Witt Brooks was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Brooks was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other pitching news, Overton got a great performance from Justin Schwarz as he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Schwarz has posted since back in March.
Back at the plate, Johnson Bowen was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
Overton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.
