Basketball Recap: Cibola's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Cibola won the last time they faced Rio Grande and things went their way on Friday too. The Cibola Cougars rang in the new year with a 45-34 win over the Rio Grande Ravens. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Rio Grande still got an impressive performance from Sophia L?pez, who posted 15 points along with six boards and three steals. L?pez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Cibola's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Rio Grande, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Cibola didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-37 defeat against Del Norte on the 4th. As for Rio Grande, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-31 loss against Grants on the 4th.
