Basketball Recap: Hemphill Comes Up Short

Hemphill lost against Chireno on January 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hemphill Hornets received a blow as they fell 58-39 to the Chireno Owls. The Hornets were down 49-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

This is the second loss in a row for Hemphill and nudges their season record down to 12-14. As for Chireno, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Woden the next time they take the court. Hemphill will head out to face Woden at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Chireno will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th.
