Softball Game Preview: Excelsior Charter Eagles vs. Adelanto Saints

Excelsior Charter hasn't had much luck against Adelanto recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Saints at 3:15 p.m. Excelsior Charter has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Excelsior Charter is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They lost 21-6 to University Prep. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since May 10, 2024.

Tristen Gonzalez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Khloe Mata was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Adelanto). They blew past Victor Valley 23-4 on Wednesday. The Saints have beaten the Jackrabbits the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Jackrabbits has come to flipping the script.

Adelanto now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Excelsior Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6-1.
