Baseball Recap: Trinity Prep Comes Up Short

Trinity Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Peachtree Academy Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 last Friday.

Samuel Shoemaker was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. He also put up three RBI, which were his first of the season. Levi Barrelle was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Trinity Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Peachtree Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Trinity Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-1 defeat against Covington Academy on the 20th. As for Peachtree Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-0 victory against Trinity Christian School of Griffin on the 14th.
