After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brandon, Oak Grove was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Northwest Rankin Cougars with a sharp 3-0 win. The Warriors not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 19th (when they won 3-0).

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-21, 25-17.

Northwest Rankin's loss came despite strong showings from Sophie Tatum and Sadie Tatum. Sophie had five digs and two aces, while Sadie had nine digs. Sophie is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Oak Grove now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Northwest Rankin, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 9-4 record.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Oak Grove will take on rival Meridian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Northwest Rankin is set to square off against their familiar foe Brandon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Cougars have won five straight at home, while the Bulldogs won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
