Baseball Recap: Northeast Takes a Loss

Northeast and Manatee squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Northeast had to settle for second. They lost 9-1 to the Hurricanes. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Vikings have suffered since March 4th.

Northeast got a good showing from Cooper White, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, White didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent over his last five games.

At the plate, Michael Marley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Northeast now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Manatee, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Northeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manatee, they will take on Braden River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Pirates have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
