Recap: Hoxie Indians vs. Ness City Eagles
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, a fact the Hoxie Indians proved on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Ness City 83-41 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 60-23.
Hoxie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josey Kennedy out in front who scored 22 points along with three steals. Avery Mauck was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Ness City's loss came despite strong showings from Ashlyn Tillitson and Monica Jordan. Tillitson scored nine points, while Jordan scored ten points.
The win makes it two in a row for Hoxie and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Ness City, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoxie will take on Oakley at TBD on Thursday. Hopefully Oakley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Monday. As for Ness City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northern Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Northern Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Monday.
