Sycamore and Fairview are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The War Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Yellowjackets at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sycamore will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

While Sycamore didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-9-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 5-2 margin over Cheatham County Central on Tuesday. Given Sycamore's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Cheatham County Central are ranked 220th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Fairview was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Creek Wood could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Fairview's goal came courtesy of Noah Simmons, who's now up to two this season.

Sycamore pushed their record up to 6-0-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three contests. Fairview's draw makes their record 2-3-1 this season.
