Baseball Recap: Sumner Takes a Loss

Sumner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 10-2 to the George Stevens Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 back in April.

Sumner's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for George Stevens Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

Sumner and George Stevens Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings. The Tigers will face off against Narraguagus at 4:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (83 vs. 10). Meanwhile, George Stevens Academy (ranked 88th) will meet Foxcroft Academy (ranked sixth) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
