Baseball Recap: Homestead Highlanders vs. West Bend East Suns
Homestead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the West Bend East Suns, falling 9-3. The Highlanders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Suns from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.
Homestead got a good showing from Lucas Wirth, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Wirth gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.
At the plate, Homestead saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ari Crabbe, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Jack Adams also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Homestead's record now sits at 1-5. As for West Bend East, their record is now 2-4.
Homestead wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-0 loss against Hartford on the 22nd. As for West Bend East, they have also already played their next game, a 5-1 defeat against Slinger on the 21st.
