Baseball Recap: Westview Wins Going Away Against Garrett

Westview's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Garrett Railroaders. The matchup marked the Warriors' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Gavin Engle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run marked the first that he has scored this season.

Engle wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Max Engle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits Max has posted since back in May of 2024. Jaxon Engle also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Westview's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Garrett, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Westview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-5 loss against Lakeland on the 17th. As for Garrett, they have also already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against Churubusco on the 17th.
