Preview: Terrell County Greenwave vs. Randolph-Clay Red Devils
Terrell County has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Randolph-Clay Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Terrell County posted their biggest win since December 8, 2023 on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Calhoun County with a sharp 53-30 win. Given Terrell County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Calhoun County is ranked 472nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Terrell County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamariana Smith, who scored 12 points. Jada Rushing was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Randolph-Clay was handed a three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Stewart County on Wednesday. Randolph-Clay was the clear victor by a 58-36 margin over Stewart County.
Terrell County's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Randolph-Clay, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Terrell County didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Randolph-Clay in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 42-37 victory. Will Terrell County repeat their success, or does Randolph-Clay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
