Basketball Recap: Red Bay Comes Up Short

Red Bay saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Obion County Rebels. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Red Bay saw an underclassman step up: freshman Khalil Luster dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 boards. Luster is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played.

Red Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Obion County, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Red Bay will venture away from home to face off against Winfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Winfield: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Red Bay has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road. Obion County and Humboldt will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Humboldt knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Obion County likes a good challenge.
