Softball Game Preview: Williamsburg Yellow Jackets vs. Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls

The Williamsburg Yellow Jackets will face off against the Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Williamsburg and 15 for Owsley County dating back to last season.

Pineville hit Williamsburg with a four-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Yellow Jackets came up short against the Mountain Lions, falling 11-1.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Owsley County and Buckhorn meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Owls / Lady Owls lost 15-6 to the Wildcats.

Owsley County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Williamsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.

Everything went Williamsburg's way against Owsley County in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Williamsburg made off with a 21-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
