Volleyball Recap: Sangre de Cristo Takes a Loss

Sangre de Cristo was the 3-0 winner over Mountain Valley when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunderbirds took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves on Friday.

While Sangre de Cristo had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20.

Sangre de Cristo's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mountain Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Looking ahead, Sangre de Cristo will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Antonito at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Valley, they will square off against Cripple Creek-Victor at 1:00 p.m. on the 13th.
