Basketball Recap: Timberline Blazers vs. North Thurston Rams
The Timberline Blazers had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They pulled ahead with a 57-56 photo finish over North Thurston. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Kaydn Ward went supernova for Timberline, scoring 17 points along with seven assists. Another player making a difference was Darrell Gipson, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, North Thurston still got an impressive performance from Ray Adams, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Adams is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Gentry, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Timberline pushed their record up to 14-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for North Thurston, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-3.
Timberline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Thurston also has no future games currently scheduled.
