Basketball Recap: Burroughs Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Burroughs won the last time they faced Serrano, and Jhavmine Ave did her part to make sure it happened again. The Burroughs Burros took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 66-23 victory over the Serrano Diamondbacks thanks in part to Ave, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. Her evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Kayla Davenport was another key player, putting up 14 points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Burroughs has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for Serrano, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-13.

Burroughs will take on Sultana at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burroughs is facing Sultana at the right time seeing as Sultana is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Serrano has already played their next game (against Hesperia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
