Southeast Polk faced Carlisle in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Rams put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 13-1 win. Considering the Rams have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Southeast Polk's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Carlisle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Southeast Polk by a score of 4-3 later that day.
