Baseball Recap: Franklin Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Franklin never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past the Glenn Rockets 15-0. Considering the Patriots have won 16 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Cooper Scholz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last two contests. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Ryan Davis was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Logan Mclaughlin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Franklin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Glenn, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-23.

Franklin will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rockets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
